President Joe Biden is the target of a progressive group’s reversal of the script, expecting “many associated groups and important persons” to join them in starting a campaign against the president’s expected reelection in 2024.
RootsAction announced its plans for a “#DontRunJoe” campaign to be launched on November 9, 2022, the day after the midterm elections, to Fox News Digital on Monday.
In an exclusive statement to Fox News Digital, Jeff Cohen, the founder of RootsAction, said, “We object to Biden running in 2024 because of his job performance as president.”
The group’s goal is to obstruct the president’s campaign if he decides to run in 2024, making sure he is not chosen as the Democrat challenging the GOP in the subsequent presidential election.
Cohen added the following to Fox News Digital: “If voters understood Biden wouldn’t be leading the ticket in 2024, Democrats would do better in this year’s midterm elections. We think that would draw voters’ attention away from Biden and onto the extreme positions taken by Republicans on issues like voting rights, abortion rights, and climate change denial.”
According to the progressive group, the only circumstance in which they wouldn’t move forward with the campaign would be if Biden stated he would not run for reelection before their planned debut date.
RootsAction stated in a news statement on Monday that it is of the opinion that “It is not wise for Joe Biden to run for re-election. He will be in for a struggle if he does.” They made their decision after expressing their belief that the Biden administration has not made sufficient efforts to address issues like the environment, voting rights, and student debt.
They want to invest roughly $60,000 in the effort to remove the president. Who they intend to support as his replacement is currently unknown.
According to a recent NYT/Sienna College poll, 64% of Democrats don’t want Biden to represent their party in the upcoming election.
Far-leftists appear to be worried about Biden running in the upcoming presidential election due to rising inflation and a failing economy.
Voters are worried about Joe Biden because they don’t think he’ll be able to run for office again in 2024 despite holding the distinction of being the oldest president in history. By the time of the 2020 presidential election, he will be 81 years old.
For several months, Biden’s approval rating has been low. Given that he is now going up against his own party, it is uncertain if he will be able to recover before progressive and Democrat groups choose a new candidate to support for 2024.
