Katherine says the prices for dairy products like milk and eggs are lower than at other grocery stores and last longer.

Many are said to have a reasonable shelf life and can be used for breakfast, lunch, dinner or even a cheeky sweet treat.

And what’s even better is that they won’t cost a lot, with a package of two dozen Kirkland cage-free large eggs that cost about $3.60 and a gallon of Kirkland 2% milk totaling no more than $3.44.

For added shelf life, Katherine also recommends that you don’t keep milk in the refrigerator door because it spoils quickly there.

Bread is a staple of every household and Katherine suggests that whole grains are the way to go.

Some items, such as Strohmann’s, can be brought in bulk and are said to cost almost half the price of their closest competitors ($3.89 for two loaves of bread).

When you shop yourself, she advises budgeters to keep one loaf of bread in their fridge and one in their freezer.

By applying this method, Kathryn says you can split soft bread for sandwiches and frozen bread for toast.

Plus, when you want to make the most of your supply, finding spreadable items like peanut butter and jams that last a long time in your cupboards are excellent choices.

Fresh fruits are a healthy way to curb your sugar cravings, and Katherine says Costco has no shortage of good deals.

That can be sprinkled into many breakfast items like yogurt and cereal and made on the go for a “perfect balanced treat.”

According to her findings she says Kirkland chicken breasts are always $2.89 per pound and come already sealed in portion-sized packages.

They store well in the freezer, and canes are added to your meals in countless ways.

“Once it’s ready, I’ll put it in the fridge and add it to salads, wraps, pasta, and ramen,” she said.

“I also eat it chilled out of the fridge when I need a protein boost in the afternoon.”

toilet roll

I rarely have to repurchase these, because they last so long,” she said. “And if you break down the cost-per-roll, it’s a steal.”
